One of the original forms of transport has networks in practically every major country.

Many countries or regions have a good train network, but here are only 5 of the best rail ‘networks’ in the world. Rail passes (see below) can be purchased for all the rail networks below:
Amtrack is a huge United States rail network system virtually covering every state in the ‘lower 48 states’ of the country. It extends to most major cities in America.

Rail in the United Kingdom almost covers every main city and town in the country. England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland.

Perhaps the most famous rail network in the world for travel is in Europe. Covers mainly Western Europe. (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Spain & more). High speed trains including Eurostar (between London and Europe), AVE (Spain), ICE (Germany), TGV (France), Thalys and more. These trains are some of the world’s fastest.

An excellent rail system features in Japan and also includes the famous Shinkansen ‘Bullet Train’.

An extensive rail network in Scandinavia, which covers the countries of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.
