here are 4 of the best:
Great Ocean Road, Victoria: The Great Ocean Road is one of the world’s most spectacular coastal drives. Truly breathtaking coastal scenery that will stay with you forever and a must-see for any visitor to Victoria & Australia! It is perhaps one of the very few coastal drives in the world where the road actually curves close to the edge of cliffs. Passes by majestic seaside towns, amazing homes, national parks, and incredible rock formations like the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and the Bay of Islands. How great is this road? It was judged by a top travel magazine (Conde Nast Traveller) as one of the best travel destinations to visit in one’s lifetime!!
The French Riviera: Nothing is more abuzz and alive than the coastal towns on the Cote d’Azur. Although it’s overcrowded here in summer, you just have to see it to believe it. Probably the most expensive coast in the world, the French Riviera, as it is often called, is a mix of blue Mediterranean waters, curving, winding roads with fantastic coastal scenery, bays, rocky outcrops and cliff mansions. The wealth here is amazing. You want to see rich and wealthy people? This is the place. If you’re on a budget, it’s hard to economize. Most European tours will come through this famous area in one way or another and stop in Nice, the capital of the Riviera, Cannes or St. Tropez. You will see grand hotels and grand residencies, flash cars, million-dollar yachts and boats, marvellous marinas and locals flaunting the most expensive jewellery.
Amalfi Coast: Seen in movies, many brochures and other forms of advertising, the Amalfi Coast, or the Neopolitan Riviera is perhaps the most dramatic and breathtaking coastline in Europe. Here, soaring cliffs overlook the magnificent Mediterranean, and is home to towns filled with hotels, resorts and villas to give the visitor a spectacular view over the sea. This is one of Italy’s greatest attractions, one of the most beautiful regions in Italy!! The winding coastal road is all part of the experience. Main resorts and towns on the coast include Amalfi, Sorrento, Positano, Sant’Aganta and Ravello, all having many forms of cliff-top accommodation.
Pacific Highway One, California: This is a beautiful drive from L.A. to San Fran, and takes in the magnificent coast of the Pacific. Great scenic coastal drive, beautiful beaches, white-capped bays, seaside towns, wineries, million-dollar golf courses!! Santa Barbara, Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea are three main beautiful towns on the route. A great touring route, hire a car and do it yourself!!!
The Finest Drives: These are some of the best coastal views on the planet, but try to keep your eye on the road!!
